This year, our VDP winery is in the spotlight of the “Vineyard Cup”. Our winemaker Tim Lilienström has managed to place two wines among the Top 3: The 2015 Hattenheim Wisselbrunnen and the 2015 Hallgarten Jungfer. The winning wines reached 95 and 97 points. For the “Vineyard Cup”, around 90 winegrowers from the German wine-growing regions had registered 240 wines – dry wines from white grape varieties, blind tasted and rated according to the 100-point scheme. The wine growing area Rheingau presents itself excellently and comes with four wines among the 10 best.
In her new book, “German Wines and Wineries 2019”, Claudia Schweikard introduces the best winemakers, wines and wineries who have achieved the seal of quality of the German Agricultural Society (DLG) with their current wines. The DLG Weinguide presents top performances from German wineries and also shows the “makers” behind it.
As Best Producer Germany MUNDUS VINI awarded the winery Georg Müller Stiftung from the Rheingau at this year’s spring tasting. With five gold and four silver medals, Peter Winter and Tim Lilienstroem have the best overall assortment, as in the past two years.
With the award of 37 GRAND GOLD, 1,487 GOLD and 1,358 SILVER MEDALS, the 24th Grand International Wine Award has come to an end. 260 wine experts from 50 countries traveled to the 6-day tasting to taste blind around 7,200 wines.
